who's who and what's what?

Ok - so there's a massive number of faces churning around the pages of Magellan at the moment. Here's a very very brief scorecard of the characters getting a little bit of screen time:
First year Cadets
There are six years of cadets, approximately 24 in each year. First year cadets of note include:

Kaycee Jones: no actual superpowers but highly physically skilled and smart. also having problems with nightmares/hallucinations.
Bill Banks: flying powerhouse, very strong frequently resulting in accidental breakages. Might have the hots for Kaycee... denies it though.
Charisma Epoch: flying powerhouse, daughter of Epoch (see Force Magellan). Was formerly a teen pop star before deciding to follow in her father's footsteps. Hates Kaycee.
Nadine Turner:speedster, good friend of Kaycee's.
Fatima Hussein:cephelomaid (half octopus half human) from the underwater realm of Pher'Nos. Good friend of Kaycee's.
Sioni Ortanga:manipulates mass, bit of a joker, friend of Kaycee's.
Rochelle Kwan: super high IQ; Montana-Rose Touchwood: witch; Maya Applecross: creates illusions; Chang Chong: witch; Mudge Wilson: projects psychic impression, usually with a lot of pain; Joe: can turn into gas or super dense solid... usually the former, losing his clothes in the process!

Faculty
These are the various teachers, of which there are many - however those showing up in the story include:

Freya Foster (aka Vybe): Counsellor/psychologist; has an empathic powers but can also generate emotion altering 'vybe'. Has pink hair!
Tom Bass (aka ThundaKlap): Physical instuctor, can utter sonic booms. Currently injured and out of the picture due to injury.
Justine Keff (aka Redd): Physical instructor; teaches tactics; also in charge of island security. Has super strength and brilliant red skin.
Jaqi Leffee: cat woman from another dimension. Teaches business management and costume design, amongst other things!

Council
Comprised of seven former superheroes from years gone by. They direct activities at Magellan Island including the Academy. A number are founders of the Academy and original members of Force Magellan. Of note:

Mary Jemmas (formerly aka Glamour): Council President; witch.
Ken Spence (formerly aka Nitro-Man): An active trainer, generally regarded as a total hard-ass; generates energy bolts fired from his fists; has lost both legs and uses an anti-grav chair to move about.
Gola Beh (no alias): Psychic. Believed to have gone on sabbatical.
Karma Joffe (formerly aka Premonitia): The real Karma was killed in New York some months ago and replaced by a future version of cadet Maya Applecross. Maya (or 'Karmaya' as I like to call her) was transformed into a near exact replica of Karma with magic by her partner in crime, a future version of cadet Chang Chong (aka Dragon Klaw). Karmaya used her illusion powers to entrap Gola in a fantasy world where it was still 1972 and she had to use her psychic powers to shield Karmaya from detection. Meanwhile Karmaya and Chang fabricated Gola's absence as a sabbatical and used it as a means to get Karmaya onto the Council so she could cause mischieve towards achieving their goal. What that goal is remains unclear but it involves something called 'Equis'. Whew!

Force Magellan
The main super hero group that deals with global and intergalactic issues. Based on Magellan Island:

Vlad Epoch (aka Epoch): flying powerhouse. One of the strongest and invulnerable superheroes ever known. Also very popular with the public. Father of cadet Charima.
Vertigo: creates extreme disorientation in others.
Hoodoo: witch
Tros: super strong six limbed and very agile alien
The Hierophant: mystic. Currently trapped in a mind loop by Karmaya.
Ranger Bill: futurist from another reality, has many gadgets at his disposal which inexplicably work only for him!

Oz Magellan
Australian branch of Force Magellan. There are several members, those seen so far are:

Captain Victoria: flying powerhouse. Currently in Australia.
Red Center: mystic. Currently on Magellan Island, trapped in a mind loop by Karmaya.
The Man Who Can: psychic-tech interfacer. Currently on Magellan Island, trapped in a mind loop by Karmaya.

'Future Force' (2021)
These individuals arrived via a spatial conduit in search of 'Karmaya' and Dragon-Klaw. As yet little actual info has been made about them, although there's been a fair bit of speculation (most of it correct) I'm not about to spoilerise it! Wink

Here's what we do specifically know and I'll update as required. Their affiliations are as yet unknown:

Maverick
Victory Man II - a.k.a William (Bill/Billy) Banks of Magellan USA 2021. (The original Victory Man gained his powers from a meteor and was active from 1930-1959 (and was also father of Magellan).)
Mongrel (??)
Speedlines
Montana-Rose and one unnamed male (with powers very similar to cadet Mudge Wilson - nudge nudge wink wink!)

Others
There are a few others in the mix:

Annie Summers (aka) Go!Anna: a solo (unaffiliated) superhero from Australia. Formerly affilated with partner/lover Wombat-Man until she found out he was sleeping with Captain Victoria. Go!Anna is named after an Australian lizard (Goanna) - the '!' is silent and is meant to be used for emphasis. A former cadet at Magellan, she was friends with Freya Foster; Annie has a strong tail and fingers and toes that allow her to grip and climb many surfaces. Currently on Magellan Island, trapped in a mind loop by Karmaya.
Brelvis Lonsdog: Formerly Brian Lonsdale and Brian's pet dog Elvis until Brian used his father's genetic blender to splice the two of them together creating a unique individual with dual memory and enhanced human-canine abilities. Brian (and Elvis) was a friend of Kaycee Jones. Brelvis is currently being pursued through jungle on Magellan Island by security over a misunderstanding. Also, Kaycee has no idea of his existance.
Doc Phillos: Australian doctor specialising in supers and related matters. Like Go!Anna, currently on Magellan Island, trapped in a mind loop by Karmaya.
Dr Annuti Chandra: Magellan Island's top physician.
Security: numerous individuals, some with powers that take care of security on and around Magellan Island.
Magellan Island: Where the bases of Force Magellan, the Magellan council and the Academy can be found. Serviced by hundereds of staff (security, maintenance, catering, faculty, medicine, legal, etc) it is a small metropolis in itself. Generally believed to be impenetrable.

whew! that's enough for now - it isn't 100% canon as i may have slipped up here and there. please feel free to correct me here, point out typos, add facts, individuals, etc. i'll update from time to time. at the moment it's meant to serve the needs of the current story but i want to expand it and use it for the wiki which i seem forever incapable of expanding upon!

Character Assassins / Red X Guard:

Japhians:
There is one known member who had a tattoo of the Vrax Japh. He participated in and probably organized the museum robbery at the beginning. The other robbers got the jewels in exchange for helping him steal the VJ. He was ultimately killed on the plane flight. Alignment is unknown.

Master Drake:
Known associates: One ninja (deceased). future: recruited Maya & Chang in 2011, killed by Chang in 2019.
Sent the ninja to acquire the VJ. Ninja was too late to get that, but killed the robbers. He detected Zelda scanning the VJ, and sent the ninja out, this time obtaining it. His possession of the VJ is an imminent threat to all everything.

In alternate timeline:
Karmaya did not warn of the plane crash; Epoch did not save it; Go!Anna died and (presumably) the VJ is at the bottom of the sea disintegrating; Brelvis did not save Go!Anna at the hospital and did not go to Magellan. Drake never found the VJ before his death.
They killed "half of her [Kaycee's] friends", including Jemima Castlemain (trying to use her as a conduit).
Gola Beh died one year before Future Magellan went back (failed conduit attempt?)

By "team", all I meant was that they were on this team (and are at least alive); I mentioned above that Brelvis never even trained at Magellan, so is very unlikely to be on any official team. He's probably an independent agent; possibly he is less susceptible to Maya's mind mojo magic (being more smell focused or just having a part canine brain).

(That is, Maya has worked almost entirely on humans, who are primarily sight oriented, then hearing and touch; she probably doesn't have nearly as much practice fooling scent, or on non-human brains.)

I suppose it's somewhat reassuring, actually. If this future crew had been the future Force Magellan, they were distinctly weaker than present Force Magellan. Epoch and perhaps Hoodoo could probably have taken on the whole group of them. Present Force Magellan seems to be strongly weighted towards the high-power end of things. I'd imagine that's probably deliberate... Force Magellan is likely the over-arching superhero team intended to handle things when the local Magellan groups aren't up to it.
