Some of you have asked what happens to the sketches I've been posting when the comic isn't done after I update the tardy strip.

Well, eventually Steve puts them into the gallery section. But in the meantime, I'm gonna throw them here.

This one was done after the Chicago Convention. I really want to use these guys more.

This one was done around the lateness caused by my birthday. Now that I've got a decent Wacom, I can actually start showing other areas of the tower, like AL's shed...

I love the Little wolfs, so much so I just had to sign up to say so.

I love seeing the orignal drawings and scetch ideas, keep up the good work.

I love my first addition too!

Well if the plush pandas aren't a complete disaster, the mini-AL's are on the tenative drawing board for future plushies. Not anytime soon, but they're definately something I'd like to eventually do.

Squee!!! I hope they both work out. I can imagine the panda vs AL battle reinactments now.

What?! Doesn't everyone want that?

Wow, the thread was started september last year, and the post comes NOW? Wink
Anyway, mini Als will be harder to do I think due to their skinny frames, they'll probably be more suited to being figures rather than plushies... not that I wouldn't want an Al plushie.

Nah, Mini-AL's would be pointless as figures. If I got the fur right in plastic you wouldn't be able to pose them for crap, let alone the whole "wearing the Joe outfits" thing.

And really, that's the whole point :)

But with the skinny frame of the mini-Als it'd be harder than the current pandas, too floppy and would be more of a beanie.

If they were done, they'd have bendy wires running through them. I'm still not completely convinced that they're even possible as a whole, but it's something I'll eventually be playing around with to see.

The biggest issue really is not whether or not it could be done at all, but rather how consistant the quality would be in mass production. Move a stitching line over a couple millimeters and it can change a lot at that scale. When I say they depend of the success of the pandas, I don't just mean sales. I'll be taking a careful look at the quality of the pandas as they come in. On them it's not really such a big deal if a stitch is a little out of place, at least in most cases. They're big enough that a small amount of drift wouldn't be noticable. But if I see a lot of variations then I wouldn't even bother with the Mini-ALs
