Hello all,
As issue one is released, and folks start to talk, it's becoming clear there is a good many of the conversations touching on the maturity label on the book, so I thought it would be a good idea to clear up where that comes from, and it's ultimate intent. (I'm thinking now I should have touched on this in the book itself)
Basically, the label is there because the book isn't aimed at an all ages crowd, as "all ages" books are safe for little Johnie and Susie, and Super Real is not. That said, it's not pornographic, or even really all that "graphic" in nature. Certainly, not the first two issues. However, it is centered on adult, or mature themes, as in topics, subject matter, and themes appropriate for mature adults (or teens). And as the story moves forward, it may get a little graphic.
The best analogy I've come up with, is that it's similar to MTV in tone, but without the bleeping and the blurring.
The rating is not about nudity, or graphic sex. Sure it’s a sexy cast, and they’re gonna wear some sexy outfits, but they’re gonna be covered up, at least as much as a nano-skin suit can…
So, don’t be scared, just don’t show it to your little nephew, or the neighborhood kids. Ya know, unless their folks already let them watch HBO n stuff…
Hope that helps, and I'd be happy to talk more about it here,
just let me know.

I have no problem with the content so far. Not everything on the spinner racks needs to be "dumbed down" to be all-ages. I think there should be a balance. _________________ Introducing ... Jason Berek-Lewis, Australia's newest comic book writer/ creator

i just like how it isn't the same, bland "for mature readers" tag everyone else uses. it would be cool if you used some variation of a stamp like the comics code, though, if i may be so bold

~x!
Yeah, I wanted to do something a little different, especially because "mature readers" has become such an inside joke, thought I'd use somethin goofy that's a bit of a wink and a nod... yet still a flag for ya know, the kids
It's all about the kids really.
