Cool! Ron keeps e-mailing me stories like this, but he should post them here!

Dang that's one big squid. I can't believe they accidently ripped off some of his tentacles. Those zany scientists.

Wow! That's cool, Lonnie -- not exactly "Squid" related, but I'd be really curious to find a similar video with a Squid attacking something like that -- I'm sure Squids are just as viscious if not more -- they've got those deadly whips, you know.

Don't worry. The tentacles grow back.
Also in the seas near Japan

Have you had jellyfish salad? It's spicy and delicious!

Actually, it's not sushi -- it's not raw. The only time I've had it was during a wedding banquet. I'm not sure if it was Chinese or Korean, but it was in a spicy sesame dressing. It was probably the most "normal" dish at that banquet. I wasn't crazy about the duck tongues.

Ok. Duck tongue sounds nasty. Or a band name.

Taste-wise, the duck tongue wasn't unusual, but there wasn't much meat (there's actually a bone or cartilage inside) and it was an unmistakable shape of a duck beak -- I just couldn't help but imagine a bunch of beakless ducks out in front of the restaurant shaking tin cans.

Wow that's a beautiful squid!

Sorry I was reading the thread and did someone mention jellyfish salad?

The only jellyfish salad I constantly eat is at a dim sum place like Empress. It's a cold dish with cilantro and duck meat. It's really good!

I've never had one that had duck tongue lol.

I think it's a Chinese disch, but I could be wrong. A lot of Asian dishes have different variations form different regions. I watch too much PBS.

Well, it's the first time I had duck tongue. As far as the jellyfish salad I had at the banquet, it was JUST jellyfish sliced in strips (like coleslaw), served cold with a spicy sesame dressing -- delicious! As far as whether it was Chinese or not... beats me, but I had never eaten these dishes before in my life.

Great drawing.

I watch PBS too! I haven't eaten the salad though. Sad
