Okay, I have seen references to PonyCon several places here and on the Freefall forum. I'm probably missing the right posts, but where and when is this held?

The first PonyCon (as it's become known as) was a Special Room Party for Mark Stanley, Scott Kellogg and Bill Redfern in honor of their contributions to the online comic community hosted by none other than one crazy unicorn during DragonCon in Atlanta, Georgia last year (2004.)
In fact, I had several compliments from previous convention goers that it was the Best Room Party they'd ever attended. So, we decided to have another one, but to hold it every other year. To give me a rest. *pant, pant, pant*
So the next PonyCon-2 will be held in Atlanta, Georgia during that other convention...what was it called again? Oh, that's right...DragonCon in 2006, September 1-4.
Scott and Kathy (members of the Cross Time Cafe) are getting married, so we agreed to have Scott and Kathy as our Guests of Honor for the "Commitment Ceremony."

Hmmm.... I lived in Atlanta for a short time in the late 80s. My wife and I had plans to drive out and visit my old roommate (who is now married with two cubs of his own) this past Spring, but we had to cancel due to our move to a new house.
We promised we'd reschedule the trip out to see them sometime in 2006. This could be a good excuse to head back to Atlanta ...unless it's only for cartoonists. _________________ Capt. Merlin Sinclair of the Blue Horizon "Never lose your imagination. It's okay to pretend."

If that were the case, Merlin, this Old Wolf would be Lupus non gratis as I can't draw myself out of a paper bag, not even with a purple crayon. It looks like a larger crowd o' folks is gathering in the wings for this next shindig, come on down! _________________ "The greatest insanity is surely to see the world only as it is, and not as it might be."

Ah, okay. I guess the photos confused me. As far as I knew, everyone there was a cartoonist.
If we can make the trip at that time, I will put in an appearance. _________________ Capt. Merlin Sinclair of the Blue Horizon "Never lose your imagination. It's okay to pretend."

Everyone is welcome, providing they agree to behave themselves (cough cough).
I'm really looking forward to meeting as many Forumites as can attend, and putting faces to the secret identities (think of it as a convention of superheroes...)
Our wedding will be held at my farm in West Virginia, which is not only out of the way for many people, but we'll have a limited guest list due to the space and financial constraints of having it at home. Plus my relatives might have a fit if I invite a bunch of strangers (and face it guys--there's very few people stranger than us...)
Into the mix, I know there's people whom I'd like to invite to the wedding, who wouldn't be able to do both events. So it's been resolved that we'll have a second reception at DragonCon in order to include all those folks who have been supportive of our comic strips over the years.
Scott and I are even debating putting off the honeymoon until September, so we can go directly from Atlanta and Scott wouldn't have to take off any extra time from work. So Pony, that's why we were VERY relieved when you said PC2 was on...! _________________ Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.
If you wish to attend that other convention called DragonCon, you might want to purchase your membership before Nov. 15, 2005, while it's only $45.00 per membership. Follow the directions on the page linked above for more than one option to make your membership payment.
DragonCon 2006 is being held September 1st (Friday) to the 4th (Monday.) Jean & I, and a few others will arrive early (August 31st--Thursday) to ensure we get assignments on the same floor; and start work on setting things up.
The first room party is Friday night (Sept.01) which will be open to the general public. Just a few chips & dips, candy, and nuts--nothing fancy.
The Private Room Party (Commitment Ceremony) will be on Saturday night (Sept.02.) I'm already gathering supplies and working on a few projects.
There will be a gathering on Sunday (Sept.03) starting on the 10th-floor open area--just to let our hair down, relax and enjoy talking amoungst ourselves.
Some folks have to leave to go back to work on Sunday, so Monday is just available to wander the DragonCon venues. Jean and I will be so busy that we'll probably use Monday to wander around.
If everything comes together as planned, we hope to have Florence there on Saturday night and she might make another appearance on Sunday.
So as you can see, PonyCon isn't just a one night stand. It's actually a mini-con within the DragonCon. A few of the folks attending don't even buy an attending membership to DragonCon because they only come for PonyCon instead.
It's a lot of fun...and a Lot of folks are looking forward to it. _________________

Okay, it's been confirmed. My wife and I will be in Atlanta during that time. I've made arrangements with our friends we will be there to visit, with plans to visit PonyCon on Saturday. Not yet sure about Sunday or Monday, depending upon how plans pan out with our friends. That's still almost a year away, and plans can be like yo-yos, but I am gunning to see you folks there. _________________ Capt. Merlin Sinclair of the Blue Horizon "Never lose your imagination. So from what you're saying, the dress code at the party will be "Tails Optional--?"
Wait until you see Tiger_T.
I wouldn't say formal...no, that would be far to uncomfortable. Blah!
It would be nice if everyone dressed nicely for the ceremony that Saturday evening. Now I don't mean coat and tie... but long pants and a nice clean shirt, would be nice for the guys. Ladies...you look good in anything, or nothin...

Just finished the PonyCon-2 banner.
The icon is the same found at the White Pony Mall at CafePress.
Like last year's PonyCon, I'll probably ask for a few volunteers to hang up a few leaflets and cards on the DragonCon Bulletin Boards (late Thursday night/early Friday morning) so those of you arriving on Friday or Saturday can find the Rooms.
(EDIT) Added: Room Parties and other announcements may also be dropped off at our Information Desk for inclusion in the "Daily Dragon."
Problem with these room parties is I won't know which room it'll be in until I check into the hotel. _________________

I thought for a while that i was going to have to wear the monkey suit again.
*Phew*
Good pair of dockers and a dress shirt would be cool.
Would you like for me to do a Web cast again? And no i won't get burned
by the fire wall again.
That would be wonderful Wolf Links. Hopefully, you've got all the bugs worked out of the Web Cast system so that you won't pull the rest of your hair out. This time you'll get to enjoy the party a lot more. _________________ Lady Wolf
Decent shirt and pants is my usual wardrobe, so I'll probably be wearing that, my zippered sweatshirt if the air conditioning is cold, and, if my finances allow, a full-size Tom Baker scarf
