Wildly popular Israeli author Etgar Keret and laureate illustrator Asaf Hanuka present the English version of their brilliantly written and gorgeously illustrated Pizzeria Kamikaze graphic novel, a gripping account of a guy with a broken heart who committed suicide only to find himself at Pizza Kamikaze, the afterworld destination of all suicides, and now it’s about passing time. Serialized in the award winning Bipolar comic, and previously translated into 13 languages, Pizzeria Kamikaze is a worldwide bestseller.
The Placebo Man:
Celebrated illustrator Tomer Hanuka collects his best comics work from the last five years, including stories previously published in the award winning Bipolar series. This impressive collection of short stories deals with identity, memory and destiny. From the hollow existence of twenty-something urbanites in Brooklyn to a dense psychological collage of a split second life time, the stories touch a raw nerve we never knew we had. Tomer Hanuka has received multiple Harvey Awards, Eisner Awards, and Ignatz Awards nominations for his work on Bipolar.

One of our local bagel places, Bageland, shares space with one of our local book stores, Goerings. This morning, enjoying my Labor Day Monday off, I stopped in to pick up a few bagels and to pick up some lazy day reading.
On scanning the magazine rack, the cover to the September/October issue of Mother Jones immediately drew my attention. Of course the cover and the cover story "In The Garden of Armageddon" by Kurt Pitzer are illustrated by Tomer Hanuka.
Check out the current issue of Mother Jones on stands now for full-sized versions of these illustrations plus one more from Tomer Hanuka. _________________ Jeff Mason - Publisher
