Those foxy facial expressions are 'n artform by themselves.
One of the most fun aspects of drawing it is the "pencil acting." Again I am glad you like the effort.

(In some ways it reminds me of Masterpiece Theater's Sharp's Rifles series.)
I've read the whole book series. Starbuck and Sharpe have been some of my best inspiration.

T'wouldn't be s'prised a'tall if'n some savvy lad built himself a fursuit depictin' one of th' lads.
That would be interesting to see.

It's good that you show all the aspects of soldiering-- like keeping one's kit in order, standin' a night watch, or assuring the troops have the supplies they need. A fuzzy paw salute t'you!
Thanks. I enjoy a lot of the mundane aspects of soldiering. I am looking to cover as many of these aspects as well so its not just a fight fight fight comic. Plus its a lot easier to develop the characters during these times.
Anyhow glad you like the comic. Thanks for taking the time to post. Us needy artist types like the feed back. =)

This discussion calls to mind something in The History Channel's Story of the Gun series. A Swedish commander developed a technique for laying down continuous fire with a musket unit.
The first rank fires, then retreats to the rear of the formation and reloads as the second rank steps forward, fires, then moves to the rear, and so on. The volume of fire would literally mow down the opposing force.
That may seem quite a challenge to illustrate. I hope not for yourself. _________________

Scripted several chapters down the road. Probably wont see the light of day for several years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caracole in both its infantry and cavalry versions. A much abbreviated version is shown in the movie Zulu, used to break up a overwhelming foot charge. In this version, however, the formation advanced instead of staying static.
